Group Agenda – Week 6

This week in your groups, you’ll be completing two separate tasks – one discussion and one collaborative research activity. Read through the directions below and just email me if you have any questions along the way. Once you have completed the group work, don’t forget to complete your Participation Notebook entry in your individual folders.

  1. Hopefully, everyone got a chance to take at least one virtual tour before your group meeting. Discuss with your groups:
    • Where did people take tours? Do they have any connections to those places? What’s interesting about them? How did their tours present information about the place? Who seemed to be the target audience? Why do you think that is (and how do you know)?
  2. Hopefully by now, everyone has a good sense of what place they are researching. Now, you’ll help one another by finding sources for each other.
    • For this activity, you should spend about 10-15 minutes per group member and do the following:
      • Each group member should talk briefly about the place they are researching and what about that place they are focusing on.
      • Everyone in the group should then try to find a source that might be helpful for that group member. (This can be a source from wherever and of any kind.)
      • After you find a source, share it with that group member. (This can either be a link on a document in their folder or the group folder or via email.)
      • Everyone should take some time to talk about the sources, why you think they’ll be helpful, what stood out to you, what questions you have, etc.
      • Make sure you have notes, reflections, comments, sources, etc. in either a group document or folder to demonstrate the work that was done during your session.
